How is everyone feeling about the new EU?

Does anyone know the audiobooks of the X-wing novels that are available from Audible? I read they are "abridged". But how much "abridged"? How much do they cut out of the story?

I've noticed that a lot of people have listed Starfighters of Adumar as one of their favourite X-Wing novels. I thought it was okay with a few key moments (Ejector Darpen story, Wedge/Iella), but not overly amazing.

Why do you guys like it?
